School wide reward for FABulous behavior! Children who followed the Fab four (Be respectful, Be responsible, Be Safe and Achieve) earned stamps on their classroom chart for this special reward. Congrats to the whole class for earning an ice-cream treat.
We were challenged by Providence College to create a group project out of cardboard in the theme of transportation. We read the book Mooncake by Frank Asch about a bear that wants a piece of the moon. The bear builds a rocket ship to get there. We decided to make our own rocket ship! We painted it and added stickers, pom poms and streamers. Then we presented it to the whole school! It was so much fun!
Math time: Working on numbers 0-5, subitizing sets and working on Dreambox on the computer comparing sets of objects as more than, less than or equal to.
Literacy Centers: Art center, ABC stamping,Word work, Reading group
Exploring the play dough that we made! Making shapes and letters.
Science time: We had a mixture of flour, salt, water, Kool-aid and vegetable oil, that changed to play dough! We used our sense of touch to feel the grainy salt and the smooth flour. We used our sense of smell to smell the fruity Kool-aid powder. We used our sense of sight to see the change in color and consistency of our mixture. We used our sense of hearing to listen to our teacher's directions. Like good scientists, we did not use our sense of taste, because we did not know what everything was at first. :-)
Fun Friday. We earned extra recess for following Mr. Potato Head's rules: 1. Looking eyes 2. Listening ears 3. Helping hands 4. Safe feet 5. Kind words and quiet voices.
Turn and talk time. We practice speaking clearly, looking at our partner's face, turn taking and being good listeners.
We are so proud. We worked on our fine motor skills and following directions while creating a symbol of our nation.
We start our day with a healthy breakfast.
We are cooperating to make a class creation.
